Champlain Area Trails Hosts a Winter Solstice Luminaria Walk in Essex
Experience the beauty of winter in the Adirondacks at this unique and captivating event.
Celebrate the shortest day of the year and the first official day of winter with a self-guided walk (or snowshoe, weather permitting).
Champlain Area Trails hosts a beautiful luminaria walk through their trails in the Essex Quarry Nature Preserve. This is family-friendly and well-lit, with shorter trails and rewarding views of the pond at Essex Quarry and winter woods.
Trails will be lit from 4 pm until 8 pm. People can come by anytime for those four hours to snowshoe or walk and enjoy the luminaria experience.
Registration is required by 6 pm the day before the event. Interested in attending? Email torey@champlainareatrails.com. Please fill out waivers before getting on the trail. Visit the CAT website for more information and to download the necessary waivers.
Don’t forget to dress warmly for a winter hike. ICoats, hats, and mittens or gloves are a must.
