Adirondack Winter Pride Weekend invites visitors to elevate their winter with a three-day celebration of community, connection, and classic Adirondack fun in Lake Placid. Taking place February 27–March 1, 2026, this second annual PRIDE weekend welcomes members of the LGBTQI+ community, families, and allies from across the region and beyond to experience one of America’s original winter getaways—wrapped in warmth, inclusivity, and unmistakable mountain charm.
What is Adirondack Winter Pride?
Adirondack Winter Pride blends outdoor adventure, après-ski energy, and meaningful connection into a long weekend that feels celebratory without losing its laid-back Adirondack soul. Over three days, participants come together to ski, skate, shop, dine, and dance—while supporting a welcoming mountain community that knows how to do winter right.
Lake Placid’s walkable village, legendary Olympic venues, and thriving small-business scene provide the perfect backdrop for a Pride celebration that feels both festive and authentic.

Kickoff celebration in the village.
The weekend begins with a lively Welcome Celebration in downtown Lake Placid. This opening-night gathering sets the tone for the days ahead, giving attendees a chance to meet fellow travelers, reconnect with friends, and ease into the weekend’s festivities. Expect a fun, social atmosphere that highlights the village’s hospitality and vibrant nightlife.
Downtown Lake Placid also makes it easy to support local—grab dinner at an independent restaurant, browse locally owned shops, or stop in for a nightcap at one of the village’s cozy bars.
Ski Whiteface, then après like a pro.
Saturday centers on winter adventure, starting with skiing and riding at Whiteface Mountain, known for its dramatic vertical and big-mountain feel. Whether you’re carving turns all day or popping in for a few runs, Whiteface offers terrain for a wide range of abilities.
Whiteface offers some of the most varied and challenging terrain in the northeast.
After the lifts close, the energy shifts to the Après Ski Party, where dancing, music, and celebration keep the momentum going well into the evening—Adirondack-style.
Olympic experiences you won’t find anywhere else.
Throughout the weekend, guests can take advantage of Lake Placid’s iconic, newly renovated Olympic venues. Skate on historic ice at the Olympic Oval, explore interactive exhibits at the Lake Placid Olympic Museum, or lace up for cross-country skiing on tucked-away trails just minutes from Main Street.
These experiences aren’t add-ons—they’re core to what makes a Winter Pride weekend in Lake Placid feel truly special.
Relax, explore, and eat, shop and drink local.
Downtime matters, and Lake Placid excels at it. Between events, visitors can enjoy:
Shopping along one of the most scenic and lively main streets in the Adirondacks
Discovering Olympic history through immersive museum exhibits
Ice skating in legendary Olympic rinks
Dining at locally owned restaurants that shine in winter
Spending locally during Winter Pride helps sustain the small businesses that give Lake Placid its year-round character.
