Raquette Lake Durant Days 2025 at Great Camp Sagamore

Join us for Durant Days from August 1 to 3, 2025, when you can tour Alfred Vanderbilt’s magnificent estate, built by William West Durant, and enjoy a 50% discount on the usual admission price. Please note that reservations are required, and you must mention the discount at the time of booking.

The tour offers a fascinating glimpse into the past and the life of the Gilded Age at a stunning retreat. Great Camp Sagamore, built in 1897, served as the summer home of the Vanderbilt family for fifty years. It’s one of our favorite places to bring visitors in the Adirondacks!

Tours begin with a brief slideshow, followed by a 1.5-hour walking tour of the key buildings in both the upper and lower complexes, for a total duration of approximately two hours. 

Visitors will explore the workers’ village and view iconic landmark buildings, gaining insight into a piece of living history. 

Please note that the tour involves walking on gravel roads and staircases. The upper complex is accessible to individuals with limited mobility.
