Historic Fort Ticonderoga Re-Opens for the Season
Step into American history on Lake Champlain.
With innovative storytelling and tours, Fort Ticonderoga visitors can immerse themselves in the world of 1760, when British and American Provincial soldiers made their final push into French Canada.
Each day, visitors bear witness to the thrilling events of that day in 1760. They will have an opportunity to see the inner workings of the Fort and weapons demonstrations and explore endless outdoor activities while taking in the stunning views of Lake Champlain. But perhaps most exciting of all is the chance to see the British-occupied fort in the years just before the American Revolution.
Fort Ticonderoga is one of our favorite places to visit in the Adirondacks. It’s a great time for families and visitors of all ages. In addition to the rich history of the Fort, visitors can also:

In this exciting two-day living history event on May 4-5, 2024, visitors can experience peacetime garrison life in British North America on the eve of the Revolutionary War as Fort Ticonderoga begins Real Time Revolution™.

250 years to the day, discover daily life for British soldiers and their families in 1774, with peacetime activities like gardening, shoemaking, tailoring, and boatbuilding. This event will explore family life for the British garrison, examining the many roles and challenges for women and children.
Discover the story and Ticonderoga’s many other epic chapters through new programs, guided tours, live weapon demonstrations, exhibits, gardens, daily boat tours, soldiers’ life programs, the Mount Defiance experience, family activities, and more.
