Camping lakeside.

Crown Point Campground is well-equipped to meet the needs of both tent campers and RV travelers:

  • 66 campsites—mostly gravel or grassy pads—with many lakeside locations for scenic views.

  • With two hot-water shower buildings, flush toilets, and a fully paved trailer dump station, Crown Point Campground ensures a comfortable and convenient camping experience.

  • Potable water stations, picnic tables, fire rings, and firewood/ice sales.

  • Boat launch with dock access for powerboats, canoes, and rowboats.

  • A recycling center and handicapped-accessible facilities, including accessible picnic areas and docks.

One of the most appealing aspects of the Crown Point Campground is the numerous on-site activities and facilities that make your stay memorable. Light fires in the evening, shower in comfort, and enjoy the accessible picnic areas among pine trees.

Launch your vessel from the boat ramp. Cast a line from the pier—from largemouth and smallmouth bass to lake trout and yellow perch.

A landmark designation with incredible scenery and essential ecological value.

Steeped in history, Crown Point Campground is built on hallowed ground from both the French and British colonial eras. The evocative stone and earthen ruins of Fort St. Frédéric, built in 1734, and Fort Crown Point, completed in 1759, stand adjacent to the campground, offering a unique glimpse into the region's past.

Visit the Champlain Memorial Light, a prominent 1858 lighthouse—rebuilt in 1912—that stands guard at the shoreline, commemorating the 300th anniversary of Samuel de Champlain’s exploration. The 1929 steamboat pier remains a beloved fishing pier today.

Take in the stunning views of Vermont across the lake and the incredible vistas of the Crown Point Bridge, one of the few crossings between New York and Vermont.

Enjoy a network of hiking trails. Nearby options include trails ranging from moderate to strenuous; the Lost Pond Trail and Treadway Mountain Trail feature mountain views and woodland ecosystems.

We are big fans of War Cannon Spirits’ Definace Hall tasting room. War Cannon Spirits is a boutique NY farm distillery located in a restored circa 1820 sawmill. Sample their hand-crafted spirits made by master distillers.

They serve a variety of food, including flatbreads, panini, salads, and more. In addition to spirits, they offer an extensive menu of craft sodas, featuring flavors such as Roob Beer, Vanilla Cream, Ginger Beer, Dog Drool (Orange Lemon), Mexican Coke, and many more.

Visit the Depot Theatre, a fantastic venue for enjoying a theatrical performance. Located in a functioning 1876 train station, it’s the only theatre in the Adirondacks that operates under an agreement with Actors’ Equity Association, the Union of Professional Actors and Stage Managers in the United States.
