The Inn in Westport on Lake Champlain

Established in 1877, this inn offers more than just a place to lay one’s head in the Adirondacks.

The Inn in Westport is a seasonal establishment and an English major's dream. It offers guests an enchanting experience in its ten rooms named after famous writers. As a holder of a BA from a prominent liberal arts institution, I am supportive.

An inviting fireplace greets guests at The Inn in Westport on Lake Champlain.

The spacious rooms are a mix of King, Queen or two Doubles overlooking Lake Champlain or the lovely wooded area next to the inn.

Each room is individually decorated with subtle references to its literary namesake (no worries – you won't find a hobbit lurking in the J.R.R. Tolkien room).

All rooms have private baths, high-speed wifi and AC. The innkeepers provide breakfast for an additional charge. The inn also offers a bookstore, an art gallery and an "incantation" store. We’ll leave the latter open to interpretation.

The Inn in Westport is a perfect little gem near Lake Champlain and super convenient to travelers on their way from the ADK to Vermont or vice versa. It is open seasonally, so be sure to check their website for availability.
