Lake George Open Water Swim Race 2025

The highly anticipated 2025 Lake George Open Water Swim Race is set to unfold on Saturday, August 16, inviting swimmers from all around to experience the beauty of this historic event.

The Lake George Open Water Swims have a storied tradition, having begun in 1927, and they continue to thrive today with only a few interruptions over the decades.

Participants can choose from a variety of challenging distances, including 2.5 kilometers, 5 kilometers, and10 kilometers, providing options for everyone.

The course features a well-designed 2.5K out-and-back loop, marked by large, colorful buoys that guide participants around the course, along with additional sighting buoys positioned in between for easier navigation. Swimmers will start in waist-deep water, allowing for a seamless entry into the refreshing lake, and they will finish their race on the sandy beach, where cheering spectators await.

A floating dock is strategically placed near the start and lap buoys, providing a convenient spot for participants in the 5K and 10K events to store their fuel and hydration, ensuring that they remain energized throughout their race.

As a token of accomplishment, all race participants will receive a stylish swim cap, a comfortable t-shirt, and a beautifully crafted finisher's medal, celebrating their dedication and achievement in this thrilling aquatic challenge.
