When we went to summer camp when we were kids, one of the most exciting times was when the camp store opened – you could get a soda, stamps, bug repellent, a t-shirt, a postcard, an ice cream sandwich or other treats. The excitement level was on par with when you heard Mr. Softee’s jangly bells coming down your street at home.

We’re not kids anymore, but we get excited to visit CampStore on Lake Pleasant in the Adirondacks. It recaptures some of that childhood magic of shopping for things to make your summer vacation memorable. They stock firewood, ice, snacks, cold drinks and more. CampStore also has fantastic, unique gifts and souvenir items you won’t find elsewhere. Treat yourself to something to remember your great time in the ADK, or pick up a sweet present for someone special.

But the fun doesn’t end there; CampStore has a mini golf course, newly remodeled this summer. And also new for 2023 is a gem mine. CampStore also scoops up ice cream from their full-service ice cream window.
