Tannery Pond Center is kicking off the holiday season with a heartwarming dose of nostalgia as Gem Radio Theatre returns to North Creek with Christmas with Fibber McGee & Molly.

Performances will be held Saturday, November 29, at 7 pm and Sunday, November 30, at 2 pm, offering Adirondack audiences a festive escape into the beloved world of 1940s radio.

A classic radio holiday, live on stage.

Promotional materials invite audiences to “come back to fictitious radio station WADK for the holiday,” and that’s exactly what this production delivers.

Gem Radio Theatre recreates the charm and humor of the original Fibber McGee & Molly radio show—once a national favorite that families eagerly tuned in for week after week.

This year’s holiday presentation features several classic episodes performed live onstage, complete with period-inspired costuming, clever physical comedy, and the warm, familiar rhythm of radio storytelling.

Voice actors, live sound effects, and audience fun.

A cast of talented voice actors brings the characters of Fibber, Molly, and their spirited neighbors to life. Meanwhile, a dedicated foley artist builds the soundscape in real time—doors slamming, footsteps hurrying, props clattering—all created right before the audience’s eyes.

Adding to the fun, the audience becomes part of the experience, responding to vintage-style cue cards just as live radio audiences once did. The result is a lively, immersive performance that blends nostalgia with holiday cheer.
