Sandra Hildreth’s new exhibit at the Adirondack Artists Guild Gallery in Saranac Lake will explore the subtleties of winter light and its impact on our perception and feelings.

Hildreth is passionate about painting the Adirondacks, using plein air techniques for wilderness locations as well as creating large-format studio paintings. While she has also painted glaciers in the Canadian Rockies and the mesas and buttes of New Mexico, the Adirondacks remain her true home.

In this exhibit, Hildreth takes viewers on a plein air tour of the stunning mountain landscapes she loves. Her studio is located in the village of Saranac Lake.

The gallery typically hosts opening receptions on the first Friday of each month. There will be a special reception for the holiday show featuring items suitable for gifts, titled "Winter Light." This reception is scheduled for Friday, December 12, from 5 to 7 pm.

Located at 52 Main Street in Saranac Lake, NY, the Adirondack Artists Guild Gallery has been in operation since 1997. Over 30 regional fine artists have participated in this year-round gallery. The displayed works consistently express the vitality and quality of fine art in the Adirondacks.

The Guild functions as a cooperative, with members sharing costs, responsibilities, successes, and camaraderie. All Guild members reside in the area.

To ensure adequate display space for each artist, the Gallery limits its membership to 15 artists. Visitors can often find an artist member in the Gallery, either working on an art piece, enhancing the space, or engaging in discussions about art with other artists, patrons, and friends.
