Gore Mountain Community Day brings a distinctly Adirondack mix of food, music, family activities, and mountain scenery to the North Creek Ski Bowl on Saturday, August 22, from 10 am – 4 pm.
The free community event at The Station invites locals and visitors to spend a summer Saturday playing lawn games, catching a magic show, grabbing lunch from local food vendors, and taking a scenic ride above the Southern Adirondacks.
It is the kind of event that works particularly well for families with different definitions of fun. Kids can bounce, race, and collect balloon creations while adults settle into a lawn chair, listen to the DJ, explore community booths, or head uphill for one of the day's biggest draws: half-price scenic skyrides.

Food, music, and a day at the North Creek Ski Bowl.
A mountain day requires provisions, and Community Day will have two options on site: Full Cort Press Food Truck and Timber & Thyme. Visitors can grab something savory, find a spot on the lawn, and settle in while a DJ provides music at The Station from 10 am – 4 pm.
Guests are encouraged to bring lawn chairs and blankets, making this an easy event to enjoy at whatever pace suits the day. Outside food and alcohol, pop-up tents, and lawn umbrellas are not permitted.

Family activities at Gore Mountain Community Day.
For younger visitors, Mr. Twisty brings a Super Silly Magic Show from 1 – 2 pm, along with balloon creations from noon – 1 pm and again from 2 – 3 pm. Bounce Around bounce houses will be open throughout the day.
The competition gets slightly more serious — emphasis on slightly — with lawn races from 10:30 am – 2 pm. Potato sack races, three-legged races, and other old-fashioned field-day contests offer ample opportunity for family bragging rights. Cornhole will also be available.

Community Day offers one particularly good reason to get off the lawn: Gore Mountain's scenic skyrides will be half price.
The Hudson Chair rises above the North Creek Ski Bowl, trading winter's snow-covered trails for green mountains and long summer views. For visitors accustomed to seeing Gore Mountain primarily during ski season, the ride offers a different perspective on the landscape — and a reminder that a chairlift can be nearly as satisfying without frozen toes.
