Great Camp Sagamore Snow Days: Winter Play, the Adirondack Way

By late February, Adirondack winter has settled into its groove—and Great Camp Sagamore Snow Days on Saturday, February 28, 2026, is the perfect excuse to get outside and enjoy it.

This second Snow Days date offers the same beloved mix of outdoor adventure and indoor coziness, with deeper snow, longer light, and that unmistakable late-winter sparkle.

Set amid towering pines and snow-blanketed trails, Snow Days invite visitors to experience Great Camp Sagamore as it was meant to be enjoyed: actively, joyfully, and with a strong appreciation for the season.

Snow croquet, anyone?

Snow Days are built around simple pleasures. Guided cross-country skiing and winter hikes help guests explore the property’s scenic trails, while sledding and snow croquet add a playful edge to the day.

Campfires crackle outdoors for warming hands and swapping stories, and inside the historic Playhouse, board games and puzzles offer a welcome break from the cold.

Refreshments are included, making it easy to balance activity with relaxation.

February Snow Days feel a little different—in the best way.

Snow tends to be more settled, trails are well-packed, and the camp takes on a peaceful rhythm that invites visitors to slow down and linger.

The Collins Building and Playhouse are the only structures open to the public during the event, offering a focused, intimate look at Sagamore’s historic interiors.

Important details for planning.

  • Admission: $15 general | $10 Raquette Lake residents & Sagamore members | Free for children 5 and under

  • Equipment: Bring your own skis, snowshoes, and sleds—equipment is not provided

  • Driving note: All-wheel drive, or snow tires, are recommended. Expect a four-mile dirt road leading to the camp
