Mixed Roots Brings Their Unique Energy to Lake George Village

The Lake George Arts Project Summer Concert Series presents Mixed Roots on Wednesday, August 13, at 7 PM in Shepard Park. This free concert is open to everyone.
Under the leadership of drummer George, Mixed Roots is a unique band comprised of members from diverse backgrounds, all of whom now call Albany, New York, home.

Brian, an Irishman and the bassist, also plays with several reggae groups in upstate New York in addition to Mixed Roots. He draws on his experience to bring elements of the Grateful Dead and other influences into the mix.
Pete, the band’s passionate guitarist and fellow Irishman, showcases his expertise after decades of practicing and performing across genres, including reggae and rock.
The horn section features saxophonist Dillon and trombonist Catherine, who identify as locals too. They contribute a distinct local flavor while honoring their global musical interests.
Gideon brings a rich texture to the music with his keyboard work, influenced by his Nigerian upbringing.

Seth, showcasing his Ghanaian roots, plays hand drums that incite danceable beats.
George, the lead drummer and vocalist, shares his knowledge of Afrobeat and reggae, which he developed while growing up in Ghana.
Together, this band generates energy drawn from their mixed roots.
