As part of their summer concert series, the Lake George Arts Project presents the Saline Fiddlers Philharmonic, America's premier youth fiddling show band from Saline, Michigan. The concert takes place in beautiful Shepard Park on July 9 at 7 pm.
These talented young musicians consistently impress audiences with every performance. The musicians, all students from Saline High School, deliver an energetic and polished show featuring a diverse range of music, including American folk, fiddle, bluegrass, jazz, western swing, and Celtic traditions.
Enthusiastic vocals and Appalachian step dancing complement the instrumentals, creating an unforgettable live performance.

The Saline Fiddlers Philharmonic was established in 1994 with a focused mission: to provide an innovative approach to music education for public school students, fostering and enhancing their interest in music performance. Since its inception, the group has set a benchmark for extracurricular music programs across the United States. It has developed into a model of instruction and motivation that many programs are now striving to replicate nationwide.
The widely acclaimed Saline Fiddlers Philharmonic’s history includes more than 1,500 performances in most states across the nation.
The group has had the honor of performing three times at the White House and twice on the Millennium Stage at the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts, as well as at a Presidential Inaugural Ball in the State of Michigan.
Their annual summer tours have taken them across the United States, from the East Coast to the West Coast, and have also included performances in Canada and tours in Europe. These tours feature visits to Saline’s sister cities of Brecon, Wales, and Lindenberg, Germany. Each year, the group performs between 50 to 60 times, typically dedicating one-third of their annual schedule to community service events.
Saline Fiddlers Philharmonic has shared the stage with many top artists as well as other student groups. Especially gratifying is the number of student fiddle organizations that have been established nationwide, inspired by the Saline Fiddlers Philharmonic.
