Immerse yourself in the enchanting world of Tchaikovsky's “The Nutcracker”—a classic tale that whisks you away into a whimsical adventure filled with holiday magic. The Lake Placid Arts Center celebrates the talents of the local community at performances at Lake Placid High School in December.
On Christmas Eve, young Clara is overjoyed to unwrap a special gift from her godfather: a beautifully crafted nutcracker. As the clock strikes midnight, her beloved Nutcracker springs to life, leading Clara on an unforgettable journey into her dreams.
Travel through a dazzling landscape, starting at the joyous holiday celebration at the Stahlbaum’s home, where laughter and merriment fill the air.
But the magic doesn’t stop there. Witness the spectacular showdown between the brave toy soldiers and the mischievous Mouse King, followed by a breathtaking escape to the Kingdom of Snow and, ultimately, the delightful Land of Sweets.
Along this enchanting path, you’ll encounter unforgettable characters—Clara, the gallant Nutcracker Prince, the mysterious Godfather Drosselmeyer, the cunning Mouse King, the charming Mother Ginger and her playful Gingersnaps, and, of course, the ethereal Sugar Plum Fairy and her dashing Cavalier.
