Take the Plunge to Support Special Olympics in Lake George
Join in on the fun for the Adirondacks’ 18th Annual Polar Bear Plunge at Shepard Beach Park.

Gather your family, invite your friends, and challenge your co-workers to form a Polar Plunge Team to support Special Olympics New York. You can also join as an individual.

The Polar Plunge is the largest fundraising event for Special Olympics New York. It offers a unique opportunity for individuals, organizations, schools, and businesses to support athletes by jumping into frigid waters across New York State.
What better place to take the plunge than in the crystal-clear waters of America’s Queen Lake, Lake George?

It’s easy to register online as an individual or a team. On the day of the event, participants will meet at Shephard Park in Lake George Village.
The current schedule is:
8 am - Registration Opens — Team Captains and Individuals check in to receive their bracelets
11 am - Cool School Plunge
11:30 am - Top 5 teams and Sponsors
Noon - Open Plunge
Top tips for a successful plunge.
Pack a towel and water shoes
Wear your swimsuit under your clothes
Bring easy-to-get-into get into warm clothes (and shoes!) for after the Plunge
For your safety, never dive into the water
Bring a plastic bag for wet clothes and somewhere to store your dry clothes
Bring along a disposable, waterproof camera
Have fun
