If you missed the first weekend—or loved it so much you’re coming back for more—the 2026 Glacier Ice Bar returns to The Sagamore Resort for a second icy encore on January 30–31. By the end of January, winter is fully settled in on Lake George, and there’s no better way to embrace it than with a cocktail served in an ice-carved bar overlooking the frozen-beauty shoreline.
This late-January weekend offers all the spectacle that has made the Glacier Ice Bar a beloved Adirondack tradition for more than ten years.
Built from approximately 50,000 pounds of ice, the installation transforms Shelving Rock Terrace into a shimmering winter lounge complete with ice bars, tables, seating, and sculptural details that feel equal parts art installation and alpine party.
An Adirondack winter tradition.
The Sagamore’s Glacier Ice Bar isn’t just about cold—it’s about craftsmanship. Each year’s design evolves, with interactive sculptures that invite guests to explore, pose, and linger. Ice luges bookend the bar, while faux-fur-covered seating and thoughtfully placed heat sources ensure the experience stays fun, not frigid.
As daylight fades, the bar takes on a magical glow, with the historic resort grounds and lake views creating a dramatic backdrop. It’s the kind of winter scene that feels distinctly Adirondack and undeniably special.

Warm drinks, cold views.
Cocktails are the star here, and the menu is designed with winter in mind. Guests can choose from warming coffee-based cocktails or celebratory drinks featuring cranberry, vodka, and champagne—perfect for toasting the season. When you’re ready to thaw out, the chili chowder lounge offers a hearty pause before you head back into the ice-carved fun.
Private heated igloos add another layer of comfort and exclusivity, making this weekend ideal for couples, small groups, or anyone looking to elevate their winter night out.
Make a weekend of it.
