Schroon Lake Porch-Fest returns to the Adirondack hamlet of Schroon Lake on Saturday, August 29, 2026, from 12–5 pm, turning porches and gathering places around the village into intimate venues for an afternoon of live music.
Presented by the Schroon Lake Arts Council, the event celebrates worldwide “Play Music on the Porch Day” with a distinctly Adirondack spin: local musicians, neighbors, visitors and a walkable village sharing the soundtrack to one of summer’s final Saturdays.
This isn’t a concert where everyone claims a patch of lawn and stays put. Porch-Fest invites listeners to wander, following the sound of guitars, voices and other instruments from one performance to the next. Past editions have spread music across private porches, local businesses, the Schroon Lake Community Church and the Strand Theatre, creating the pleasantly unpredictable afternoon when turning a corner can reveal the next act.

Porch-Fest is built around a wonderfully simple idea: musicians play, porches become stages, and audiences move around town rather than waiting for the entertainment to come to them.

The Schroon Lake Arts Council describes the event as an opportunity to stroll from porch to porch while local musicians share their music with friends and neighbors.
The format fits Schroon Lake particularly well, where Main Street, side streets and the lakefront create a compact setting for an afternoon on foot.
The Arts Council had not announced the 2026 lineup or individual performance locations at the time of publication.

Porch-Fest also lands in a community with an unusually deep commitment to live performance. The Schroon Lake Arts Council has helped keep live music thriving here for more than 50 years, with summer programming that ranges from its Schroon Lake Live concert series to the Adirondack Folk Music Festival.
Porch-Fest takes that musical culture off the formal stage and puts it quite literally on the front porch.
