The Strand Movie Theater in Schroon Lake
An original Art Deco movie theater and performance space.
The Strand has been a mainstay in Schroon Lake for decades. Centrally located on Main Street in the village of Schroon Lake, The Strand plays current releases.
Several sources report that the Strand Theatre has been operating since at least 1941 when it was listed with a seating capacity of 350. It epitomizes a lovely small-town theatre and reminds us of the old days with much of the original architecture still in place. Patrons remark that it feels like they have stepped back in time.
