The Seagle Festival performs “Monkey & Francine in the City of Tigers” at Tannery Pond Center in North Creek, NY.

The Seagle Festival performs a youth-oriented opera, Monkey & Francine in the City of Tigers, at Tannery Pond Center near Gore Mountain on Tuesday, July 29, at 10:30 am.

Utilizing music from both Western and non-Western styles, Monkey & Francine is an action-packed tale of bravery, smarts, and family ties.

Brave Monkey and clever Francine work together to escape the clutches of a dishonest Crocodile and the evil Lord and Lady Tiger to save their family and their kingdom.

Music for young audiences.

Their teamwork and bravery show them and their parents that when they work together, they can accomplish anything.

Kamala Sankaram (music) and David Johnston (libretto) designed this 45-minute opera for young audiences. The opera incorporates diverse musical styles, including Bollywood, Ethiopian jazz, and Latin influences, and aims to convey the message that teamwork and recognizing individual strengths are essential for overcoming challenges.
