Spider-Man is heading into the heart of the Adirondacks. Spider-Man: Brand New Day, starring Tom Holland, plays at Indian Lake Theater in Indian Lake, NY, October 29 through November 1, 2026, bringing Marvel's web-slinging superhero to one of the Adirondack Park's treasured small-town movie theaters.

The PG-13 film runs 2 hours 25 minutes, with evening screenings Thursday through Saturday at 7 pm and a Sunday matinee at 2 pm featuring open captions. Adult admission is $8, and children 17 and under attend regular movies free when accompanied by an adult. Tickets can be purchased with cash, credit card or online.

Film synopsis.

Four years after the events of Spider-Man: No Way Home, Peter Parker is living with the consequences of a remarkable sacrifice: the world no longer remembers him.

Now an adult and largely alone, Peter devotes himself to protecting New York City full-time as Spider-Man. But the pressure of watching his former friends move forward without him begins to take a toll—and sparks an unexpected physical transformation. At the same time, a disturbing pattern of crimes points toward a formidable new threat.

It's a story that returns Peter Parker to one of the character's most enduring themes: what happens when the responsibility of being Spider-Man collides with the very human need for connection?

Cast, director, and a new chapter for Spider-Man.

Tom Holland returns as Peter Parker/Spider-Man, with Zendaya as MJ and Jacob Batalon as Ned. The ensemble also brings Mark Ruffalo back as Bruce Banner/Hulk and Jon Bernthal as Frank Castle/Punisher, alongside Sadie Sink, Tramell Tillman and Michael Mando.

Director Destin Daniel Cretton, whose credits include Marvel's Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings, takes over the franchise for this installment. Rather than leaning heavily on the multiverse spectacle of No Way Home, Brand New Day shifts attention back toward Peter himself—older, more isolated and confronting what his life as Spider-Man has cost him.

What critics are saying.

The film's critical reception has’s more grounded approach to Peter Parker, with particular praise for Holland's performance and Cretton's energetic direction.

Not every critic has been completely won over. Some have questioned whether the film does enough to distinguish itself from the familiar Marvel formula. That tension makes Brand New Day interesting: it's both a major superhero spectacle and an attempt to bring Spider-Man back toward a more personal story.

After its summer theatrical release, the Indian Lake engagement gives Adirondack audiences another chance to see the film on the big screen.

Why see Spider-Man in Indian Lake?

There's something wonderfully incongruous about watching Spider-Man swing through Manhattan while sitting in a theater in the middle of the Adirondacks.

Indian Lake Theater is a community-centered cultural destination where movies, live performances and special events bring residents and visitors together.

Unlike a sprawling multiplex, this independent Adirondack cinema offers a more intimate moviegoing experience. And with children 17 and under admitted free when accompanied by an adult, it's an especially appealing option for families spending Halloween weekend in the central Adirondacks.

For residents and visitors looking for things to do in Indian Lake, Blue Mountain Lake or the surrounding region, Spider-Man: Brand New Day offers blockbuster entertainment without leaving the mountains.

Visit the Indian Lake Theater website for tickets, schedule updates and additional information.

ADK Taste recommendation.

The Sunday matinee with open captions is a particularly welcoming option for families and moviegoers who prefer dialogue displayed on screen.
