A beloved fairy tale comes to life.

Everyone knows Little Red Riding Hood—but few have experienced it as an opera.

A scary wolf like the one in Little Red Riding Hood.

Who’s afraid of the big bad wolf?

Composer Seymour Barab's delightful adaptation follows the classic fairy tale while weaving together beautiful melodies, clever rhymes, and playful storytelling that keeps young audiences entertained from beginning to end. Lasting approximately 35 minutes, the production is perfectly paced for younger children while offering parents and grandparents an enjoyable introduction to live opera.

Following the performance, families are invited to stay for a question-and-answer session with the performers, giving children a chance to learn more about singing, theater, and life on stage.

Meet tomorrow's opera stars.

This year's production features four talented 2026 Seagle Festival Emerging Artists, accompanied by a live pianist.

Many of these performers are preparing for professional careers on opera stages around the country, making this an opportunity to experience exceptional young talent in an intimate setting. The relaxed atmosphere encourages children to see opera as fun, welcoming, and surprisingly accessible.
