The Smoke Eaters Jamboree has entertained generations of Adirondack families with rides, music, and fireworks in Warrensburg.
The annual celebration continues to make Warrensburg one of the southern Adirondacks' favorite summer destinations.
An Adirondack tradition worth keeping.
Long before food trucks and Instagram-worthy festivals became commonplace, communities throughout the Adirondacks gathered around fire company fundraisers. The Smoke Eaters Jamboree is part carnival, part community reunion, and entirely Adirondack.
There is something wonderfully timeless about it. Children clutch stuffed animals won at midway games while parents catch up with neighbors over a paper plate of fair food. By dusk, the mountains turn blue, the lights come on, and the sounds of laughter carry across the recreation field.
Visitors staying in Lake George, Chestertown, Bolton Landing, or North Creek will find Warrensburg an easy detour—and a reminder that some of the Adirondacks' best experiences still happen far from the busiest tourist corridors.
What visitors can expect at the Warrensburg Recreation Field.
Friday evening begins with gates opening at 6 pm. An auction featuring locally donated goods starts at 6:30 pm, offering attendees the chance to take home everything from Adirondack-themed items to community treasures. Music throughout the evening comes courtesy of After-FX DJ Service.
Saturday's festivities begin at 5:30 pm, with After-FX once again keeping the energy high before Aquanett, the popular '80s tribute band, takes the stage at 6:30 pm.
Expect plenty of carnival classics: flashing rides, the ring of midway games, and the familiar aroma of fried dough drifting through the evening air. It is the kind of event where dinner might consist of sausage and peppers followed by a funnel cake—and somehow, that feels exactly right.
Plenty of music will get the party rockin’.
ADK Taste pick.
Saturday night belongs to Aquanett. The band's high-energy celebration of big hair, arena rock, and '80s nostalgia has become a favorite throughout the region. Pair their set with a lawn chair and stay through dusk when fireworks light up the southern Adirondack sky.
Fireworks in the Adirondacks.
Few things feel more Adirondack than fireworks reflected against mountain silhouettes. Scheduled to begin at dusk on Saturday evening, the Smoke Eaters Jamboree fireworks display offers a fitting finale to the weekend.
Arrive early if fireworks are the goal. Parking fills quickly, particularly for visitors coming from Lake George and neighboring communities.
ADK Taste recommendation.
Plan to arrive before gates open on Saturday and bring folding chairs. Spend an hour exploring the midway, grab dinner on-site, enjoy Aquanett's performance, and stay for the fireworks. It is the easiest way to experience the event as both a visitor and an honorary local.
