The Wakely Dam Ultra 55K in the Central Adirondacks

The Wakely Dam Ultra is an exciting 55K ultra-marathon that takes runners through the stunning wilderness of the Adirondack Park in New York State. This race follows a remote stretch of the Northville-Placid Trail, running from Piseco Lake to the Wakely Dam.

Participants must be self-sufficient, carrying their own nourishment and support throughout the challenging course. This technical trail race features a total elevation gain of 3,300 feet, making it a true test of endurance and determination.

The Northville-Placid Trail is an ideal backdrop for the ultimate endurance test.

Once runners enter the Wakely Dam, they have two choices: either emerge at the Piseco Airport or retrace their steps back to where their journey began.

Earning a place among those who have triumphed at Wakely demands physical fitness, careful planning, unyielding resilience, and perhaps a touch of good fortune.

What's included in the registration fee?

The 2025 registration fee is $112. Participants will receive a race shirt, two meals, a pre-race pasta dinner, and a post-race party for runners and their families, along with additional benefits.

Friday, July 25

• 4 pm — Athlete check-in and packet pickup at the Piseco Airport. If you cannot be present on Friday, your race packet will await you at the start line

• 4 pm to 6 pm — Pre-race pasta (included with registration)

• 5:30 pm — Course updates with RDs

Saturday, July 26

Ready to race.

• 4 am — Coffee will be provided. Bring your own travel mug to enjoy during the bus ride. If you place it in your race bag, the WDU crew will ensure you can pick it up after you finish

• 4:30 am — Bus arrives at Piseco Airport; each participant must check-in

• 6:15 am — Any last-minute direction from RD’s and photo

• 6:30 am — The Wakely Dame Ultra Marathon beings

At the finish line.

The Wakely Dam Crew will wait for each runner to cross the finish line. After the race, all runners and their families/guests are welcome to stay and enjoy the post-race food and festivities.
