A Sunday soundtrack for the Adirondacks.

The Winter Coffeehouse Concert series invites audiences to slow down, gather with friends, and enjoy live music in a warm, welcoming setting. The March 1 performance showcases the Bob Stump Band, known for high-energy musicianship, authenticity, and a repertoire that moves effortlessly across American roots traditions.

The fiddle, an important element in folk, americana, bluegrass, irish, and Scotish music.

The band kicks off with blues and Appalachian folk, then journeys into bluegrass, country, jazz standards, and rock. The result feels organic rather than rehearsed. These musicians respond to the room and shape each show around the audience.

Tickets cost $20 in advance, $25 at the door, and youth 18 and younger attend free—making this one of the best-value live music events near Gore Mountain this season.

Meet the musicians.

Bob Stump on guitar and vocals.

Bob Stump, a singer-songwriter raised in the suburbs of New York City, found his true calling in folk and Americana. Although urban rock surrounded him in his early years, he gravitated toward the storytelling tradition of folk music and built his career from there.

He performs both solo and with his band at fairs, festivals, concerts, and clubs across the region. Early in his career, he won several flatpick guitar contests, and he still “burns it up” on stage. His instrumental “The Rain Came Down” earned first place in the instrumental category of The New England Song Contest. Audiences and critics alike praise his authentic sound and heartfelt delivery.

Doug Moody on fiddle.

Doug Moody brings dynamic fiddle playing, harmony vocals, and undeniable stage presence. With a formal music background that includes opera training and years touring with folk rock bands, he delivers a hybrid sound that elevates every performance.

Bob and Doug first met during an impromptu campfire sing-along. Since then, they have shared countless stages. They embrace the full diversity of American music—bluegrass, cowboy tunes, country, folk, rock, jazz standards, and pop. They rarely rely on a fixed set list. Instead, they focus on the people in front of them. As they say, “It’s not about us; it’s about the people who come to see us.”

Tom White on banjo, mandolin, and fiddle.

Tom White stands out as a multi-instrumentalist steeped in the traditions of old-time, Irish, Scottish, and bluegrass music. In high demand as a session musician, he also owns and operates a recording studio in Middleburgh, NY, where he has recorded numerous award-winning artists. His versatility adds depth and texture to the band’s sound.

Roy Coates on bass.

Roy Coates anchors the group with the “big bass.” His career spans Carnegie Hall, Yankee Stadium, Madison Square Garden, and Broadway productions. He has served as band conductor for the New York Guard Band and earned the highest meritorious achievement medal for producing and conducting a remote Memorial Day performance broadcast from Yankee Stadium in 2021. In addition to performing, Roy teaches music in public schools and runs a private guitar studio.
