Looking for a Valentine’s weekend with heart—and history? February 14–15, 2026, brings a midwinter edition of Winter Weekend at Great Camp Santanoni when the Adirondacks are wrapped in deep snow and quiet beauty.

This weekend is ideal for couples, friends, or solo adventurers who prefer shared experiences over crowded restaurants. The reward? A peaceful winter journey and a warm welcome at one of the region’s most storied Great Camps.

February is often prime winter conditions in the central Adirondacks, making it a favorite month for snowshoeing and skiing. Visitors will find the Main Camp open for tours, offering insight into Santanoni’s role as a pioneering Adirondack Great Camp and its remarkable preservation story.

The snow-covered carriage road creates a rhythmic, meditative approach—one that feels especially fitting given Santanoni’s historic emphasis on retreat and reflection.

A cozy stop at the Artist’s Studio.

From 10 am to 3 pm, the Artist’s Studio on Newcomb Lake serves as a warming hut, complete with a glowing woodstove and free hot drinks.

It’s the perfect place to pause, warm up, and enjoy the view before continuing on—or turning back—your winter journey.

Snowshoe loans make this weekend approachable.

Visitors without winter gear can still take part thanks to free snowshoe rentals provided by the Adirondack Interpretive Center, available beginning at 9 am at Newcomb Pines.
