A resort created by family for families.
The resort was established by a family for families. Current owners, David and Randi LaBar, inherited the property from David’s parents, Frank and Sandy, who, in turn, inherited it from David’s grandparents, Charles and Eleanor. They have remained committed to preserving the vision of a peaceful retreat that would serve future generations.
The original owner, Charles, the youngest of three sons, aimed to transform the beautiful wooded property into a haven of rest while offering plenty of adventure and exploration opportunities.

Imagine yourself here.
In 1934, Charles hand-cut the timber for the first cabins, using his trusty Belgian horse to transport the wood to ideal locations. With one new hand-hewn cabin constructed every few years, the resort soon became the preferred destination for families seeking to unwind, explore, and reconnect.
As guests enter the property along a picturesque drive lined with sugar maples, they will sense how Charles' vision has been brought to life by the LaBars, who live on-site, ensuring that each guest is treated like a valued family member.
A legacy of memories.
With generations of families returning year after year, Morningside has cultivated a sense of community and nostalgia. Guests often share stories of their childhood visits, bringing their children to create new memories. The welcoming atmosphere, attentive hosts, and picturesque setting make it a cherished destination for many.
For those seeking a peaceful retreat that combines rustic charm with outdoor adventure, Morningside Camps and Cottages offers an idyllic escape in the heart of the Adirondacks.
