Camp Orenda Adirondack Glamping
Glamping resort in the southern Adirondacks.
Editor’s note: Camp Orenda is now permanently closed.
Camp Orenda may be the OG of Glamping in the ADK.
Situated in a secluded part of Warren County in the Adirondacks, Orenda offers six canvas tents complete with Adirondack-inspired furniture, including plush-down comforters, pillows, fresh linens, and clean towels, lighting, ceiling fans and electrical outlets. All of Orenda's canvas cabins come equipped with "wood-burning-inspired" electric stoves for heat on cooler nights.
Guests at Orenda are on an American Plan. That means nightly rates include breakfast, a to-go lunch (made to order) and dinner. No outside food is permitted (for your safety). While the owners claim no bears have ever been sighted at Camp Orenda, the staff follows strict food safety protocols. Oh, and the resort is BYOB - alcohol is not provided but is allowed.
Guests have access to a central bathhouse with two unisex bathrooms with heated toilet seats, so your tushie stays warm on cool ADK nights.
Embrace the great outdoors in the alfresco shower- experience bathing in a private, heated shower underneath the forest canopy with heated spring water from Orenda's artesian well.
Several national and international publications recognize Orenda for its beauty and charm, and as a special place to stay. Last Fall, Travel+Leisure cited it the best place to camp in New York Stet. Architectural Digest named it one of the most beautiful places to stay in the Adirondacks. And National Geographic named it in their “A traveler’s field guide to the wild new world of lodging.”
