The Durham County Poets are a dynamic and versatile band whose music transcends genres, blending Blues, Soul, Folk, R&B, and Gospel to create a unique Canadiana sound.
“There’s something about the Durham County Poets that leaves you feeling that everything might be OK in the world after all. There’s a human spirit that lives in these people, and their music is the medium that allows that spirit to roam free.”
Formed in Ormstown, Quebec, their journey has taken them from a humble café to stages across Canada and the United States, marked by their infectious energy and heartfelt songwriting.
Led by the charismatic vocalist Kevin Harvey, the band includes Carl Rufh on bass, Rob Couture on drums, Rob MacDonald on guitar, and Mark Leclerc on tenor saxophone, with frequent contributions from saxophonist Kaven Jalbert.
This talented group has captivated audiences with their JUNO-nominated album, “Hand Me Down Blues”, and their 2022 release, “Out of the Woods,” which received critical acclaim and topped several best album lists.
Known for their rich storytelling and musical versatility, the Durham County Poets bring each song to life, creating unforgettable live performances.
