Adirondack Artisan Festival
The Adirondack Artisan Festival is an excellent opportunity to access artisans and art-makers from throughout the region. Visitors will find paintings, furniture, specialty foods, sculptures, clothing, stained glass, and more. From the traditional to the contemporary, the local products for sale at the festival are inspired by the natural majesty of the Adirondack wilderness; many are made using techniques passed down across generations. The festival offers a unique and memorable market for all things Adirondack, highlighting the variety of historical and modern processes used by craftsmen and artisans in the North Country today.
Adirondack Plein Air Festival at the Adirondack Experience
The campus of the Adirondack Experience, also known as the Adirondack Museum, on stunning Blue Mountain Lake is the perfect setting for the annual Adirondack Plein Air Festival. For those unfamiliar with the term, Plein Air painting is about leaving the four walls of the artist’s studio behind and experiencing painting and drawing in the landscape.
Attend this festival and experience artists' processes when they leave the studio behind to paint and draw in outdoor spaces. According to the ADKX, “the work of today’s Plein Air artists connects to the journey hundreds of Adirondack artists have taken over the years—finding the best spot that captures the spirit of nature and the best light in which to create.”
