Hemlock Hall
Step back in time, unplug and unwind.
Hemlock Hall on Blue Mountain Lake is a picturesque family resort that harkens back to another era. Its distinctive chocolate brown and teal-trimmed buildings are set on the shore of pristine Blue Mountain Lake.
Originally built in 1898, the main lodge served as a Gilded Age hunting camp. Fifty years later, new owners transformed the property into a resort focused on families. In addition to the initial lodge, which contains eight guest rooms, the resort now includes a four-room motel and ten cottages ranging in size from one to three bedrooms.
All rooms include a small refrigerator, fresh linens and daily maid service. In the main lodge, some rooms share a bathroom; however, all other rooms and cottages have private baths.
Rates include a full breakfast and dinner daily (aka, American Plan). Meals are served family-style, and guests dine together, so you will likely get a chance to make new friends. A picnic lunch is available for order the night before.
Visitors offer high praise for the delicious, traditional American home cooking at Hemlock Hall (a vegan option is always on the menu). In fact, if the resort has the capacity, they will accommodate non-guests at dinner, but it’s not an easy table to get.
The rustic environment of Hemlock Hall invites guests to step back into less complicated times and reconnect with family and friends. They are proud to have no phones, TVs, or radios in guest rooms and limited wifi in the main lodge.
Trust us; you will not be bored. After all, it’s the Adirondacks, so there is plenty of hiking, biking, and canoeing, all the watersports are right outside your guest room door. A short distance away is the world-renowned Adirondack Experience (formerly the Adirondack Museum), The Wild Center, and numerous other lakes nearby to enjoy. Or relax with a good book on one of Hemlock Hall’s various porches.
We’re getting relaxed just thinking about it.
