Glamping is alive and well in the ADK.
One of the latest additions is Huttopia, a European brand of glamping locations. Huttopia opened a new “glampground” in Lake Luzerne in the southern ADK in 2021.
Set on 300 acres, Huttopia ADK offers over 100 “ready to glamp” sites with a range of accommodations:
Trappeur accommodates up to 5 people in a wood and canvas structure with a kitchenette, woodstove, bbq, electricity, and private bathroom.
The Canadien also accommodates up to 5 people in an all-canvas dwelling with electricity, a kitchenette and a shared bathroom.
Trappeur Duo “Nature” offers eco-conscious couples a bbq, composting toilet, cooking equipment, and solar power. Showers are available at a nearby bathhouse.
All accommodations include linens and towels, some sites are more secluded than others, but all offer some level of privacy. You will feel like you are immersed in nature. There is also a “noises off” policy at 10 pm, so if your idea of a great vacation includes keg stands, fist-pumping, and Mötley Crüe on the boom box until dawn, we suggest you domicile elsewhere.
Amenities include a main lodge offering continental breakfast and espresso bar, a pool, wifi in common areas, a restaurant in season, and much more.
Huttopia operates in 57 locations in France and worldwide, so they’ve got this concept nailed. The U.S. sites are in Maine, New Hampshire, and California.
