The 33rd annual Halloween 5K Run/Walk returns to Abraham Wing School in Glens Falls on Saturday, October 31, 2026, starting at 9:30 am. Hosted by Adirondack Runners, this community tradition gives runners and walkers a festive way to begin Halloween at the southern gateway to the Adirondacks.
The morning pairs the main event with a free Halloween Hop for children ages 12 and under. Competitive runners can chase a finish time, walkers can enjoy the seasonal spirit, and younger participants get a shorter course of their own. Costumes bring the Halloween character; running shoes still do the heavy lifting.

A Halloween 5K through Glens Falls.
The Goblin Gallop follows a marked, two-loop course through downtown Glens Falls. Its community atmosphere makes it a good fit for runners and walkers who enjoy an event with a sense of occasion, whether their goal involves an age-group placing or simply completing the distance in costume.
Organizers will offer overall and age-group awards, with awards available at the finish rather than during a formal ceremony. Post-race refreshments round out the morning.
The Halloween Hop gives kids their own starting line.

Immediately after the 5K, the Halloween Hop welcomes children ages 12 and under for a free 1K fun run (approximately 0.6 miles). Organizers estimate a 10:30 am start, though timing depends on when the main race finishes.
Every Halloween Hop finisher receives a treat bag. For families with younger children, this shorter event offers a manageable introduction to race-day excitement—with a suitably seasonal reward.
