Chrome, Curves, and Adirondack Roads: The Inlet Classic Car Cruise & Show Returns

Inlet Classic Car Cruise and Show returns.

The Inlet Classic Car Cruise & Show returns to downtown Inlet, NY, in the heart of the Central Adirondacks, on Saturday, July 25, 2026, from 10 am – 3 pm.

Hosted by the Inlet Historical Society, this free classic car event invites visitors to admire restored automobiles, motorcycles, and other specialty vehicles while enjoying one of the Adirondacks' most beloved summer destinations.

Located along Route 28 and within easy reach of Old Forge, Eagle Bay, and Raquette Lake, Inlet knows a thing or two about scenic drives. On this particular Saturday, however, the roads leading into town may be nearly as entertaining as the show itself.

There is no admission fee for spectators, and vehicle and motorcycle entries are also free—a refreshing reminder that some of the Adirondacks' best events still come with a decidedly old-fashioned price tag.

What the Inlet Classic Car Cruise & Show is.

Part community gathering and part rolling time capsule, the Inlet Classic Car Cruise & Show celebrates the craftsmanship and character of vehicles from another era. Visitors can expect everything from gleaming chrome bumpers and lovingly restored engines to motorcycles and specialty vehicles that turn heads for entirely different reasons.

The event is sponsored by the Inlet Historical Society, an organization dedicated to preserving the stories and traditions of this corner of the Adirondacks. In many ways, classic cars fit neatly into that mission. They are, after all, history with whitewall tires.

What visitors can expect.

The day's festivities include dash plaques for participants, food, raffles, and plenty of opportunities to chat with owners about their prized machines. Enthusiasts can stroll at their own pace, camera in hand, while taking in rows of Fords, Chevrolets, Mopars, hot rods, and trucks.

Of course, every car show needs a little friendly competition.

Trophies will be awarded in the following categories:

  • People's Choice

  • Best Hot Rod

  • Best Mopar

  • Best Ford

  • Best GM

  • Best Truck

  • Best of Show

Visitors are encouraged to cast their vote for People's Choice while attending.

Why the Adirondacks are made for classic cars.

Classic cars and the Adirondacks share a common trait: neither is in much of a hurry.

The region's winding roads, mountain vistas, and lakeside communities make it one of the Northeast's most enjoyable places for a leisurely drive. It is easy to imagine many of these vehicles feeling right at home along the Fulton Chain of Lakes or parked beside Fourth Lake on a summer afternoon.

For travelers spending the weekend in the Central Adirondacks, the event pairs nicely with shopping in Inlet, paddling nearby waterways, or an evening meal in Old Forge.

ADK Taste recommendation.

Arrive before 10:30 am for the best viewing experience and easier parking. Then plan to linger after the show. Inlet's shops, restaurants, and waterfront offer plenty of reasons to extend the day—and perhaps debate whether the Best of Show trophy went to the right vehicle.

ADK Taste insight.

The Inlet Historical Society has spent decades preserving local history, making it a fitting steward for an event that celebrates mechanical history. The result is a gathering that feels less like a competition and more like a community reunion with exceptionally polished paint jobs.
