Author/Educator Bill McKibben Discusses Renewable Energy

On Sunday, July 20, attend an informative and engaging presentation by Bill McKibben. He will discuss the upcoming Sun Day national day of action and give the audience an advance peek at his book, “Here Comes the Sun,” due out in August.
Solar energy is currently recognized as one of the most cost-effective sources of power globally and offers a potential solution to address the climate crisis.
However, there are significant economic interests associated with fossil fuels that may oppose their expansion. Collaborative efforts within communities are essential for advocating for legislative changes and facilitating the necessary work to promote renewable energy initiatives.
Sun Day celebrates solar and wind power, as well as the movement to transition away from fossil fuels.

Author, Educator, Activist, founder of Third Act
Bill McKibben is a contributing writer to The New Yorker and a founder of Third Act, which organizes people over the age of 60 to work on climate and racial justice.

In 2014, McKibben was awarded the Right Livelihood Prize, sometimes called the ‘alternative Nobel,’ in the Swedish Parliament. He also won the Gandhi Peace Award and received honorary degrees from 19 colleges and universities.
