Saranac Lake PorchFest Turns Front Porches Into the Adirondacks' Biggest Neighborhood Concert

For one day each summer, the village of Saranac Lake transforms into one of the Adirondacks' most charming music festivals.
Saranac Lake PorchFest, taking place Saturday, August 1, 2026, turns front porches, front yards, businesses, and neighborhood gathering spaces throughout the village into dozens of free live music venues, inviting visitors to wander from performance to performance at their own pace.
Instead of buying a ticket and staying in one place, PorchFest encourages exploration. Download the digital schedule and map or pick up a festival map at Berkeley Green, stroll the walkable downtown streets, and discover everything from folk and blues to rock, Americana, acoustic sets, and family entertainment—all while experiencing one of the Adirondacks' most welcoming communities.

A neighborhood becomes the venue.
The beauty of PorchFest is its simplicity.
The idea began with a familiar experience: hearing someone practicing guitar on a nearby porch. Multiply that across an entire village, add dozens of performers, enthusiastic neighbors, and hundreds of listeners, and you've got PorchFest.
Rather than gathering around one main stage, visitors create their own itinerary. A blues duo might be performing on one porch while a bluegrass band plays a few blocks away and a singer-songwriter entertains an audience gathered beneath shady maple trees.
The result feels less like a traditional music festival and more like being invited into the community itself.
Mountain Mist Ice Cream gets into the act at PorchFest.
Live music around every corner.
This year's lineup features more than 40 performers spread throughout Saranac Lake.
Visitors will find returning local favorites alongside new discoveries, including Dead in the Woods, Jeezum Crowe, Lucky Barrys, Phil Henry, River Valley Duo, The Holy Rollers, Three Leaf Clover, Mad Dog Blues, The Midnight Stargazers, GreyWolf The One Man Band, Billy Allen, Heather Richards, Grace Elizabeth, David Biondo, The Fultons, and many more.
No matter which direction visitors choose, chances are another performance is only a few minutes away.
Family fun extends beyond the music.
While live performances fill the village, families with younger children should make time for the Kids Zone at William Morris Park from 11 am – 5 pm.
Designed for young music lovers, the area features performances, interactive activities, and plenty of opportunities to sing, dance, and play throughout the day.
Featured performers include Mountain Melodies Music Camp of Saranac Lake, Ms. Rebecca & Friends, Loon Lake Live, and Shawny, making it an easy stop for families exploring PorchFest together.

Why PorchFest feels uniquely Adirondack.
Many communities host outdoor concerts.
Few invite visitors to wander through residential neighborhoods where front porches become stages, and homeowners become hosts.
That community-first spirit reflects what many travelers love most about the Adirondacks. Rather than separating visitors from residents, PorchFest brings everyone together through music, conversation, and leisurely walks beneath tree-lined streets.
It's an authentic experience that can't be replicated inside an arena or behind festival gates.
ADK Taste recommendation.
Arrive earlier in the day to pick up your map at Berkeley Green before the busiest afternoon crowds arrive. Wear comfortable walking shoes, bring a refillable water bottle, and leave plenty of room in your schedule for spontaneous discoveries—some of the festival's best performances are the ones you weren't planning to see.
Make a day of visiting Saranac Lake.
PorchFest pairs naturally with a full day exploring one of the Adirondacks' most vibrant downtowns.
Between performances, browse local shops, enjoy lunch or dinner at one of the village's independent restaurants, grab coffee or ice cream, and soak up the lively atmosphere that makes Saranac Lake a favorite destination throughout the summer.
Whether visitors stay for an hour or spend the entire day wandering from porch to porch, PorchFest offers a refreshingly relaxed way to experience live music in the Adirondacks.
The festival takes place rain or shine on Saturday, August 1, 2026, at locations throughout Saranac Lake. For maps, schedules, weather updates, and any changes due to severe weather, visit the official PorchFest website or follow the festival's social media channels before attending.
