The Point - A Relais & Châteaux Adirondack Property
Let’s get to The Point on Saranac Lake.

First, some context: The Point is the only Forbes Five-Star property in Upstate New York and the first North American Relais & Châteaux member, so it has that going for it, which is nice.
Boating anyone?
Once the private Great Camp of William Avery Rockefeller II, co-founder of Standard Oil with his brother John D. Rockefeller Jr., The Point is an exquisite jewel on Saranac Lake. Architectural Digest describes it as “among the most rarefied of wilderness experiences in America.”
The Point aims to retain the optimal Great Camp charm while offering modern-era luxuries. With only 11 rooms in four original log buildings, guests can expect a bespoke and elegant experience with a very high standard of service.
Each room is decorated uniquely. All guest rooms have gorgeous lake views, hand-crafted beds, wood-burning fireplaces, indulgent baths, and outdoor sitting spaces.
Trust us; you don’t have to worry about overlooking the parking garage, scratchy sheets, or odd stains on the carpet.

To match the surroundings, the cuisine at The Point is sublime. The current executive chef boasts an impressive resume with tenure at fine dining venues throughout the U.S., and, as one would expect, the menus are seasonal, feature produce from The Point gardens, and use locally sourced ingredients whenever possible.
In keeping with the Gilded Age house party vibe, guests dine together. The staff occasionally mixes things up with unique outdoor venues, an island picnic, and a snow barbecue in the winter.
Just don’t forget your tux. Wednesday and Saturday evenings, The Point specifically requests black-tie dress to continue the Rockefeller tradition of elegant dining. On those evenings, guests enjoy a seven-course meal with paired wines to “pay tribute to this bygone, refined era.”

Of course, if guests prefer to dine in their room or keep it casual in the onsite Pub, the staff will accommodate whatever guests wish.
By the way, no need to leave fido at home. Pets are welcome and receive their roster of amenities. They even have doggie life vests so Rover can go boating with you. However, the resort is for adults only.
Nightly rates are inclusive for two adults, the use of the resort’s sports equipment and facilities, and all gourmet meals, afternoon tea, wines, and spirits. Honestly, it’s a bargain when you think about it.
