2025 Wilmington Whiteface 100K & 50K Mountain Bike Race

One of the country's most demanding mountain bike races is in the Adirondack High Peaks region.

The legendary Wilmington Whiteface 100K and 50K Mountain Bike Race returns on Sunday, June 8, 2025. Referred to by mountain bikers as "The Beast from the East," this event is organized by the Adirondack Sports Council (ADKSC).

The course follows jeep roads near Jay and Saddleback Mountains and includes technical segments of singletrack trails at Hardy Road and Blueberry Hills. Participants will enjoy stunning views of Vermont, New England, and the expansive Adirondack wilderness.

The course is renowned as one of the most challenging in mountain bike racing across the United States. It offers an exhilarating blend of rugged backcountry roads and smooth, flowing singletrack paths, all punctuated with demanding climbs that test the limits of even the most seasoned riders.

Competitors in the grueling 100K race are faced with the formidable task of completing the course in under eight hours, with the official finish time set at 3 PM.

The race entry fee grants participants a coveted finisher medal and includes an athlete t-shirt as a badge of honor, a satisfying post-race meal at the lively finish festival, and, most importantly, the esteemed bragging rights that come with conquering the infamous Beast from the East.
