Chrome, Community, and a Maine Lobster Roll: Cruisin’ Car Show Returns to Saranac Lake

For one weekend in June, downtown Saranac Lake trades hiking boots for hubcaps as the 2nd Annual Cruisin’ Car Show rolls onto Main Street.

Taking place June 19–20, 2026, in the heart of this Adirondack village, the free community event combines classic cars, specialty vehicles, live music, local food, and small-town atmosphere into one decidedly family-friendly celebration.

In a region known for mountains, paddling routes, and scenic drives, a car show feels surprisingly at home.

Visitors can expect gleaming chrome, polished paint, plenty of automotive storytelling, and enough food to turn a casual afternoon stroll into a full-fledged Adirondack weekend outing.

A downtown Adirondack car show.

The festivities begin Friday, June 19, with a Welcome Party at Hotel Saranac from 4 pm – 10 pm.

Inside the historic hotel's Great Hall Bar, car enthusiasts can gather over drinks, swap restoration stories, and admire the machinery before Saturday's main event.

Meanwhile, Main Street hosts a Porsche Car Show from 5 pm – 10 pm, presented by the Porsche Club of America.

It's an unusual sight in the Adirondacks: sleek European sports cars lined up against the backdrop of one of the region's most beloved downtowns.

The setting alone is worth the trip.

Food trucks worth planning around.

While the cars may be the headliners, the food lineup deserves a mention near the top of the bill.

The Maine Lobster Truck brings buttery lobster rolls and coastal flavor to the mountains, while Polish Korner serves hearty comfort food that pairs surprisingly well with a day spent admiring vintage vehicles.

Visitors can also stop by the ADK Mobile Bar for refreshments while WVCR's Brian Donovan keeps the energy high throughout the show with live DJ entertainment.

The aroma of grilled food, the sounds of classic tunes drifting down Main Street, and rows of meticulously maintained vehicles create exactly the kind of atmosphere summer weekends in the Adirondacks do best.

What visitors can expect on Saturday.

Saturday's Cruisin' 2026 Car Show runs from 10 am – 2 pm along downtown Main Street.

Vehicle registration takes place from 8:30 am – 10 am for participants who want to show off their rides. Registration costs $25 per vehicle, while attendance remains completely free.

Throughout the day, visitors can browse classic cars, muscle cars, specialty vehicles, custom builds, and automotive curiosities from across the region.

One particularly interesting addition is the History of Automobiles in Saranac Lake display, offering a glimpse into how motor vehicles helped shape travel and commerce in this Adirondack community.

The event concludes with an awards ceremony from 2 pm – 2:30 pm recognizing standout vehicles and participants.

Why it fits the Adirondacks.

Few places appreciate a good road trip quite like the Adirondacks.

Many visitors arrive via scenic routes that wind through mountain passes, lakeside villages, and forested backroads. Cruisin' Car Show celebrates that enduring relationship between travel and destination.

For travelers visiting nearby Lake Placid, Tupper Lake, Wilmington, or the High Peaks region, the event offers an easy excuse to spend a few extra hours exploring one of the Adirondacks' most vibrant downtowns.

ADK Taste recommendation.

Arrive before noon on Saturday and come hungry.

Spend time exploring the vehicle displays, grab lunch from one of the food vendors, then take a stroll through downtown Saranac Lake's shops, galleries, and cafés. Visitors who make a full day of it will experience far more than a car show—they'll get a taste of one of the Adirondacks' most walkable and engaging communities.
