On Friday, August 14, Tannery Pond Center presents A Cycling Film Festival, an evening of cycling and mountain biking films in North Creek, New York, in the heart of the Adirondacks.
Held at Tannery Pond Center from 7 – 9:30 pm, the festival coincides with the 2nd Annual North Creek 4-6er Marathon MTB Race Endurance Weekend.
The five-film lineup travels from American criterium racing to Norwegian freeride country, abandoned Colorado mining territory, California singletrack, and the deeper human connections that can form around mountain biking.

Five cycling films take over Tannery Pond Center.
The evening opens with Crit Dreams, Angus Morton’s 48-minute dive into the speed, tension, and surprising poetry of American criterium racing. Expect tight corners, whirring wheels, and the particular adrenaline of racing fast in very close company.
This Is Home, from Anthill Films, shifts the scenery to the freeride world of Brage Vestavik and the unlikely beginnings of his journey to the forefront of mountain bike filmmaking.
Then Echoes of the West End, directed by Brock Benson for WETA, heads to Colorado, where mountain biking trails become part of the reinvention of an abandoned region.
After an intermission with light refreshments, the program turns more reflective. Patrick Lucas’ 19-minute Dirt Relations explores mountain biking as a vehicle for reconciliation, relationships, and healing intergenerational trauma.
The final film, Teton Gravity Research’s eight-minute Dirt Magic, brings the evening to Downieville, California, and the transformation of a fading mining town into a mountain biking destination.

Arrive early and leave extra time for parking. Construction has closed the lot behind the town hall building. Parking is available in the library/town hall lot, along Main Street north of the Main Street/Route 28N intersection, and on the shoulders of Route 28N where vehicles can pull completely out of the roadway. Temporary event parking is also permitted in the grass lot at the corner of Main Street and Route 28N.
