Experience the Total Solar Eclipse 2024 in Indian Lake
Indian Lake is preparing a day of fun activities to celebrate the solar eclipse in the Central Adirondacks. Events, music, a craft fair, and more will fill the community for this monumental event.
What exactly is a total solar eclipse?
Solar eclipses are either total or annular, depending on the distance between the Sun, Earth, and the Moon. During these events, the Moon completely covers the Sun. In an annular eclipse, the Moon only partially covers the Sun, creating a ring of light in the sky.
In April of 2024, the U.S. will experience a total solar eclipse. It will pass over New York State and directly through the Adirondack Park. Towns and villages throughout the region expect many visitors to view this incredible phenomenon.
