The Sembrich Presents the Spira Piano Quartet

Spira, a newly formed chamber ensemble from the Albany area, makes its debut at the Sembrich Opera Museum and performance space in an exciting, wide-ranging program.

Selections include piano quartets by Gabriel Faure, Gustav Mahler and Bohuslav Martinů, as well as an arrangement of a Mozart “Adagio” by Arvo Pärt.

Delve into the intricate world of European chamber music with Spira, the capital region’s premier piano quartet.

Based in New York, the Spira piano quartet brings together musicians from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (RPI), the Albany Symphony and other regarded institutions.

Comprised of Jamecyn Morey on violin, Brittany Zellman, viola, David Bebe, cello, and Chrysi Nanou, piano, the quartet balances programs of traditional repertoire from various periods with innovative, newly commissioned works.

Following the performance, attendees can enjoy a lakeside reception on the Sembrich’s beautiful grounds.
