Pumpkins are helpful in many ways — as a filling for pie, jack-o'-lanterns, and, as it turns out, as a projectile. The Adirondack Pub & Brewery has hosted its annual Pumpkin Chunkin’ after Halloween for several years. And this year, expect another fantastic family event.
Pumpkin Chunkin' is a beloved autumn event in Lake George, where creativity, laughter, and a bit of friendly chaos take center stage. Watch as pumpkins are launched through the air using homemade catapults and slingshots, or join in on the fun yourself. Entry is free.

Throughout the day, you can enjoy live performances, medieval demonstrations, delicious local food, and craft beer brewed just steps away at the Adirondack Pub & Brewery.
It’s the perfect opportunity to experience the crisp air, vibrant foliage, and community spirit that make autumn in the Lake George area so special.
Event highlights include:
Food and beer vendors offering seasonal food, craft beer, and hot drinks.
Live music from local musicians and entertainers
Medieval-style performances — Past events have included costumed performers, blacksmith demos, and friendly “village” displays. Huzzah!
A family fun zone featuring the always popular bounce house for Lil’ ADKers and a giant slide
Slingshots designed for launching apples and other fruits.
The Great Pumpkin Drop: A crowd favorite in many years — giant pumpkins dropped for a dramatic, splattery finale.
Bonfires to keep everyone warm and comfortable in the autumn air.

Pro-tips for a great time:
While the event is free to attend, it is BYOP (Bring Your Own Pumpkin) for launching. Sources tell us that whole pumpkins have the greatest impact (jack-o’-lanterns tend to fall apart).
Arrive early, as the parking lot tends to fill up quickly. Parking is available at 1 Canada Street at the Biscotti Brothers and High Peaks Distilling lot.
November weather is unpredictable, so dress accordingly (think layers, comfortable shoes, etc.). All activities are held outside, rain or shine.
Cash is king. Food and beef vendors accept cash only. We recommend small bills for everyone’s convenience. And don’t forget to tip your servers.
Follow all posted safety rules and staff instructions. Safety first!
