Snocade 2026 Returns to Indian Lake With Nine Days of Winter Fun
Indian Lake transformed into a winter wonderland for Snocade 2026.
Snocade 2026 invites visitors and locals alike to make tracks in the heart of the Central Adirondacks.
Running Thursday, February 12 through Saturday, February 21, 2026, this beloved Presidents’ Week tradition transforms Indian Lake into a hub of free, family-friendly winter fun, live music, creative workshops, dining specials, and community celebrations.
Snocade stands out for its welcoming, small-town feel and its ability to turn winter into a reason to gather. Events unfold across town—from the Ski Hut and Town Hall to restaurants, the library, and the local theater—making it easy to pop in for an afternoon or plan a complete winter getaway.
What to expect during Snocade week.
Snocade offers nearly daily events, with many free and open to the public. Outdoor activities depend on the weather, but the indoor lineup ensures there’s always a reason to linger in town.
Horse drawn sleigh rides are a popular Snocade tradition.
New in 2026, the Snocade Moose Scavenger Hunt runs all week. Participants can pick up a card at the Welcome Center, Town Hall, or participating businesses, then explore Indian Lake in search of moose-themed clues—an easy way to support local shops while having fun.
The Indian Lake Ski Hut serves as a central gathering spot throughout the week, offering ice skating, sledding, indoor games, and restrooms during posted hours, plus hosting several marquee events.
Live music, movies, and community programs.
Snocade opens on Thursday, February 12, with American Roots Music – An Evolution of Music, performed by The Rock’n Roots Band at Indian Lake Theater. The free school program and evening community performance trace American music from Delta blues to Johnny Cash.
Movie nights continue throughout the week at the theater, featuring first-run and art-house films and free family programming such as Family Feud, offering visitors a cozy evening option after a day outdoors.
Food, drink, and local flavor.
One of Snocade’s biggest draws is the enthusiasm with which local businesses lean in. Daily specials and themed events encourage visitors to eat local and linger longer.
Hearty winter fare.
Highlights include:
Wing Nights, Valentine’s dinners, and Snow Glow parties at McSweeney’s Irish Pub
Happy hours, breakfasts, and dinner specials at The Bear Trap
Kid-friendly treats and all-day specials at Chef Darrell’s Mountain Diner
Axe-throwing contests and live music at Axes & Irons
These specials turn Snocade into a true dine-around, benefiting restaurants, taverns, and shops throughout town.
Family-friendly highlights and hands-on fun.
Families will find plenty to love, from Kittyat races, dog-sled rides, and horse-drawn wagon rides to creative workshops and library programs hosted by the Indian Lake Library. Basket weaving, needle felting, DIY self-care crafts, and kids’ story times keep hands busy and screens forgotten.
Snocade’s Kitty Cat snowmobile race.
Community organizations also play a starring role, with events like the Friends of the Library Book & Bake Sale, cold water rescue demonstrations, and fundraisers supporting the Indian Lake Theater and Volunteer Fire Department.
A grand finale worth planning around.
Snocade wraps on Saturday, February 21, with cardboard sled races at the Ski Hut, followed by the Snocade Grand Finale. Expect live music, ice skating, a bonfire, complimentary hot dogs, a s’mores bar, hot cocoa—and fireworks at 6:30 pm, weather permitting. It’s the kind of winter night that reminds visitors why Adirondack communities shine brightest in the cold.
Why Snocade matters.
Snocade does more than fill a calendar. It brings neighbors together, supports small businesses, and invites visitors to experience Indian Lake as locals do—warm, welcoming, and proud of winter.
