The Adirondacks Didn’t Get the Memo About Slowing Down

Summer in the Adirondacks has reached that glorious point where the calendar seems to have a life of its own. Farmers markets spill into village greens. Music drifts across lakes at dusk. And somewhere between your second iced coffee and dinner on the deck, another event pops up that suddenly feels impossible to miss.
This week, the region is operating at full capacity. Opera lovers can spend an evening with Mozart as Seagle Festival presents Così fan tutte in Schroon Lake, while theatergoers head to Westport for Depot Theatre's Incident at Our Lady of Perpetual Help.
Across the northern Adirondacks, the Can-Am Rugby Tournament returns to Saranac Lake, Lake Placid, and Tupper Lake, bringing thousands of athletes, fans, and more than a few stories worth retelling.
Elsewhere, Ticonderoga's StreetFest transforms downtown into a lively celebration of community, while Schroon Lake's beloved Arts & Crafts Fair returns to the waterfront with artisans, shoppers, and a view that does most of the heavy lifting. And that's merely the opening act.
