StreetFest Returns to Downtown Ticonderoga for a Day of Music, Markets, and Adirondack Community

StreetFest takes over Ticonderoga.

There are summer Saturdays in the Adirondacks, and then there is StreetFest.

The 17th Annual StreetFest returns to Downtown Ticonderoga on Saturday, July 25, 2026, transforming Montcalm Street into a pedestrian-friendly celebration in the heart of the Adirondacks.

Hosted by the Ticonderoga Montcalm Street Partnership, this free community festival runs from 10 am – 3 pm and brings together live music, local food vendors, sidewalk sales, family activities, and one of the North Country's most spirited downtown gatherings.

Stretching from Lake George Avenue to Champlain Avenue, Downtown Ticonderoga becomes less of a main street and more of an Adirondack block party—one where the soundtrack includes fifes and drums, the aroma of festival food hangs in the air, and children race between bounce houses and scavenger hunts while shoppers wander from storefront to storefront.

Visitors exploring Fort Ticonderoga, Lake Champlain, or the Schroon Lake region would do well to build this event into their Adirondack itinerary.

What visitors can expect.

StreetFest is one of Ticonderoga's signature summer traditions. Now in its seventeenth year, the event blends the best elements of small-town life: local merchants, nonprofits, farmers, musicians, and neighbors gathering in the middle of the street for a few unhurried hours.

Face painting

Get your face painted at StreetFest.

Expect sidewalk sales from downtown businesses, artisan vendors, food stands, and the ever-popular Farmers Market Square, located across from the Ticonderoga Area Chamber of Commerce.

Those who arrive hungry won't leave disappointed. Festival favorites, fresh produce, baked goods, and locally made specialties are all part of the experience. It is the sort of event where lunch may begin with a sausage sandwich and somehow end with a maple treat tucked into a shopping bag for later.

Live music throughout Downtown Ticonderoga.

Music will fill Montcalm Street throughout the day.

The festivities begin with the Fort Ticonderoga Fife & Drum Corps marching down Montcalm Street from 10 am – 10:30 am, offering a fitting nod to the community's rich history.

Other performances include:

  • Farmers Market Square: We Are Instrumental (10 am – 3 pm)

  • Huestis House (next to TACC):

    • Brad Peria & Terrina Cook (10:30 am – 12:30 pm)

    • Mike Donohue & Pat Pengitore (12:30 pm – 2:30 pm)

  • Next to the American Legion:

    • Dan Rabideau (10:30 am – 2:30 pm)

The result is a downtown soundtrack that shifts naturally throughout the day—from acoustic sets and Americana to the unmistakable cadence of Revolutionary-era drums.

New for 2026: Recovery Day the StreetFest Way.

This year's event introduces a meaningful addition to the schedule.

In partnership with Essex County Public Health, StreetFest will host "Recovery Day the StreetFest Way" in Carnegie Place, bringing additional community resources, outreach, and family activities to the festival.

As part of the initiative, Vestopia Hoops will present Circus with Sammy, featuring interactive circus performances and hands-on fun for children and families.

It's a reminder that Adirondack communities have long understood that gathering together is more than entertainment—it's part of what keeps small towns vibrant.

Family fun in the Adirondacks.

StreetFest remains firmly family-friendly.

Children can enjoy face painting, bounce houses, scavenger hunts, caricatures, games, giveaways, fire truck exploration, and plenty of opportunities to burn off summer energy before the drive home.

Parents, meanwhile, can browse vendor booths knowing there is no shortage of activities to keep younger visitors entertained.

ADK Taste recommendation.

Arrive shortly before 10 am and park outside the downtown closure area. Start the morning by catching the Fort Ticonderoga Fife & Drum Corps, then work your way toward Farmers Market Square before the crowds build. If time allows, pair StreetFest with an afternoon visit to Fort Ticonderoga or a scenic drive along Lake Champlain.

Why StreetFest feels uniquely Adirondack.

There is something refreshingly old-fashioned about a community that closes its main street simply so people can enjoy it.

StreetFest isn't trying to be the biggest festival in the Adirondacks. Instead, it succeeds by being unmistakably Ticonderoga—welcoming, walkable, and rooted in community.

And in a season crowded with events, that may be precisely why people return year after year.
