First Signs of Colorful Fall Foliage in the Adirondacks
Fall colors continue to emerge across the Adirondack Park.

The I Love New York Fall Foliage Report has returned, indicating that the initial hints of the stunning autumn colors are starting to show in the Adirondack region. We’re excited to provide you with this summary to enhance your enjoyment of the season’s delights.

Leaf peeping season is underway in Tri-Lakes and High Peaks towns and villages.
According to I Love NY’s September 17 Fall Foliage Report, Saranac Lake’s leaf spotters anticipate up to 25% change this week with some pops of bright red and yellow.
Scouts expect a 30-40% change in the foliage in Tupper Lake and Mt. Arab leaves by the weekend. The vivid greenery is turning into autumnal brilliance, featuring rhubarb, claret, saffron, canary, carrot, clementine, and cherry-colored leaves.

Way up north in Malone, they see up to 10% of leaves changing into bright red leaves with some touches of orange.
Reports from Wilmington and Whiteface Mountain indicate that up to a 30% foliage change has occurred, with increasing shades of yellow, red and orange, and about a 25% change in the area around the mountain.
Lake Placid leaves are about 20% turned with muted yellows and pale oranges, with pops of bright red on the maples.
Leaves are just changing in the Lake Champlain Region and Adirondack Coast.
Spotters in Crown Point estimate a 20% change into fall colors, with patches of muted rusty-brown leaves and occasional shades of golden yellow.
Reports advise that visitors to the Ticonderoga area can expect a 15% change over, with muted shades of dark red, brown, and subtle orange.
The Central Adirondacks’ autumnal plumage is on display.
The Leaf patrol in Lake Pleasant anticipates a 40% transition by the weekend, with all the usual fall shades. In Benson at Lapland Lakes Nordic Vacation Resort, colors are just beginning to emerge with subtle shades of red and orange.

In Newcomb, observers note a 40% foliage change by the weekend, with reds and oranges beginning to appear.
I Love NY’s leaf spotters in Old Forge predict a 55% foliage change this weekend, featuring average to bright orange and gold leaves, along with patches of cheerful reds.
Lake George Region and Southern Foothills are starting to transition.

In Warren County around Lake George, spotters expect about 5% change, with hints of red and yellow leaves. Reports from Queensbury also show about 15% color and a few isolated trees showing muted green-yellow leaves.
