Jazz at the Lake is a contemporary jazz festival that attracts some of the most talented musicians in the world. Hosted by the Lake George Arts Project, this FREE event takes place in Shephard Park in Lake George Village, overlooking the captivating waters of Lake George.

Now in its 39th year, Jazz at the Lake continues to bring an incredible lineup of award-winning jazz performers to the Adirondacks, and 2023 will be no exception. From Friday, September 15, through Sunday, September 17, Jazz at the Lake celebrates the vibrant and diverse genre of jazz and brings together talented musicians from around the country. And did we mention it’s FREE?
Here are just a few of the artists appearing at this year’s Jazz at the Lake.

Endea Owens and The Cookout perform at Shepard Park at 6 pm. Considered to be one of the jazz world’s most electrifying ascending talents, Endea Owens is a Detroit-raised recording artist, bassist, and composer. A graduate of the Juilliard School, she’s won an Emmy, a Grammy and a George Foster Peabody award, to name just a few of her many accomplishments. Read more.
Performing on Saturday at 1 pm is Naya Baaz, a “bimusical group” (when artists perform in two distinct musical traditions) led by the brilliant Pakistani-American guitarist and composer Rez Abbasi and New England Conservatory alum and sitar player Josh Feinberg. Recently featured on NPR’s “All Things Considered,” Naya Baaz has been called a groundbreaking collaboration between two extraordinary musicians. Read more.
At 5 pm on Saturday, catch the Jared Shonig Quintet. Grammy-award-winning drummer, composer and bandleader Jared Schonig has performed with many of today’s leading vocalists and toured worldwide, from sold-out Carnegie Hall shows to festivals in Zimbabwe. Read more.
Jane Bunnett and Maqueque take the stage at 8 pm on Saturday. Five-time Juno Award winner Jane Bunnett has turned her bands and recordings into showcases for the finest musical talent from Canada, the US, and Cuba. She has been nominated for three Grammy Awards, received The Order of Canada, The Queen’s Diamond Jubilee Medal, and, most recently, The Premier’s Award for Excellence. Read more.
Brazilian percussionist Duduka Da Fonseca and the Quarteto Universal perform on Sunday at 1 pm. Da Fonseca is a 4-time Grammy Award-nominated drummer. He has appeared on over 250 albums alongside American Jazz icons and Brazilian Jazz Icons, including 25 albums as a leader/co-leader, making him one of the most recorded Brazilian drummers.
