Thurman Maple Days is not only about maple syrup. It's also a great opportunity to explore the other artisans in the area. This year's tour includes visits to Nettle Meadow Farm and Kemp Animal Sanctuary. Nettle Meadow is a well-known farm that has been producing award-winning cheeses for several years. They also run the Kemp Animal Sanctuary, which provides a home for over 130 animals.
The Sanctuary is home to differently-abled sheep and goats from Nettle Meadow's production herd, as well as other farm animals such as llamas, horses, donkeys, chickens, ducks, turkeys, pigs, cats, bunnies, peacocks, and more.
