The Charles R. Wood Theater is one of the Adirondacks’ best places for enjoying a wide variety of musical, theatrical, dance, comedic and educational events. Their mission is to promote cultural and artistic endeavors, thereby fostering economic development and improving the quality of life within the greater Glens Falls area.
With over 300 events a year, The Wood is sure to have something for everyone to enjoy. And because they are a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization, they endeavor to keep ticket prices low. It also means arts organizations can afford to rent the theater for performances.
We just looked at The Wood’s calendar for the next month or two and were impressed: several national, grammy-winning music performers are on the roster, as well as performances by the Adirondack Ballet Theater, family hands-on craft events, several productions of broadway musicals and more. Visit their website for updated information.
The theater offers accessible seating and hearing devices to accommodate patron’s needs. Trained service animals are also welcome. There is limited on-street parking downtown. However, Glens Falls boasts abundant municipal parking. You should be able to find a spot near the theater in public lots located on Elm, Ridge, South, and Oakland Street.
